Obtaining Workers' Compensation Insurance

You may obtain workers' compensation insurance in California in the following ways:

  • Through the services of a broker: If you currently do not have a broker and would like a referral, please contact IBA West at (800) 772-8998 or visit their Web site. IBA West represents independent agents and insurance brokers in California, Alaska, Oregon, and Washington who employ thousands of insurance professionals. IBA West will provide assistance in selecting a broker for your insurance needs.
  • Directly with an insurance carrier, writing California workers' compensation insurance.

How to Obtain Coverage from State Fund *

You may apply for workers' compensation coverage in one of two ways:

  • Through a Regional Office: Contact your local State Fund Regional Office.
    Note: In the Los Angeles area, applications are accepted in our Monterey Park office. In the Inland Empire, applications are accepted in our San Bernardino office. Offices in Glendale and Riverside provide claims-related services only.
  • Through this Web site: Go to Request an Application for Insurance where you can obtain an application by download or mail. The completed forms must then be submitted to a State Fund Regional Office.
