Dear State Fund Constituents:

For nearly 100 years, State Fund has served California employers and injured workers with integrity and has earned a reputation for fiscal responsibility. As you may know, State Fund is in the process of an intensive review of its group insurance administrative fee program. At the same time, State Fund is reviewing general aspects of its internal controls. As part of this process State Fund is implementing a new program designed to allow individuals an additional avenue for reporting their concerns.

State Fund has implemented a new program called Integrity in Action. This toll-free reporting hotline allows callers to relay suspicions about unethical activity directly to our Board of Directors. Customers, claimants, staff, and our broker partners can call (866) 294-1742 anytime — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — and may remain anonymous. The Integrity in Action hotline is operated by an independent company and staffed by specially trained interviewers.

You may also continue using the California State Auditor’s Whistleblower Hotline for improper activities concerning State Fund or any branch of state government. The Whistleblower Hotline, at (800) 952-5665, allows for the reporting of theft, fraud, conflicts of interest, misuse or abuse of state property, gross misconduct, and incompetence or inefficiencies by state employees.

Since accepting the position of Interim President, I have emphasized the need for a transparent and open organization. With Integrity in Action, our customers and employees can have confidence that State Fund will continue to provide the highest level of service while upholding the highest ethical standards. I encourage all State Fund stakeholders who have serious concerns to use the Integrity in Action hotline. Thank you for your support of this new initiative.
