Be Sure to Notify Your Employees About the MPN
To help protect our policyholders’ business, State Fund reminds policyholders that notifying their employees of the State Fund Medical Provider Network (MPN) is not just a company courtesy—it is a legal requirement. We want our policyholders to avoid incurring any related liability. In this regard, complying with the notification requirement is essential.
State Fund policyholders can use our published materials to help them notify their employees promptly, easily, and thoroughly. We’ve already included the legally required details in our two posting notices, our MPN brochure, and our guide to workers’ compensation brochure. In addition, we routinely provide these materials to all our customers free of charge. To obtain a supply of these materials, we encourage our customers to:
- Call our Customer Service Center to request a supply of the two posting notices and two brochures:
- Notice to Employees
- Employee’s Guide to the State Fund Medical Provider Network
- New Employee’s Guide to Workers’ Compensation
- Immediately post both the English and Spanish Notice to Employees in a conspicuous location frequented by employees, where employees may easily read the notices during the course of the day.
- Provide employees with the MPN brochure at all of the following times:
- New employees—at the time of new hire. (Give them the workers’ compensation brochure as well.)
- Existing employees—when transferring into the MPN.
- Injured employees—at the time of injury.
State Fund is committed to providing the resources our policyholders need to keep their business in compliance with workers’ compensation laws. If you are insured with State Fund, call our Customer Service Center for your supply of free notices and brochures today.
