State Fund Sets the Standard in Fighting Fraud
State Fund leads the state when it comes to fighting fraud. Our efforts have recovered and returned millions of dollars to California’s workers’ compensation system. 
We’ve assembled an effective force to root out fraud:
- A 32-member Special Investigation Unit
- A 13-member Special Litigation Unit
- More than 50 Fraud Liaisons throughout the state
State Fund maintains strong working relationships with prosecutors and law enforcement officials at the local, state, and federal levels. We also produce videotapes, posters, brochures, and other educational materials on how to detect and report fraud. We offer tools for fighting fraud:
Getting Results
In 2007 and as of June 1, 2008, State Fund’s efforts in identifying and reporting suspected fraudulent activities, as well as in providing assistance to law enforcement, have resulted in the following:
- 2007 - Restitution ordered $7,978,930.04 in 29 cases
- 2008 - Restitution ordered to date $10,585,489.43 in 13 cases
