State Fund Medical Provider Network (MPN)

The State Fund Medical Provider Network (MPN) provides our policyholders access to a wide range of approved physicians for the treatment of work-related illnesses and injuries. As a result, State Fund policyholders can benefit from medical-cost and policy-premium reductions when they channel their injured employees to MPN physicians for treatment of on-the-job injuries or illnesses.

Quality Care and Medical Control

The State Fund MPN is made up of a group of select physicians and other medical service providers within the state of California:

  • Many of the MPN physicians and providers primarily treat occupational injuries.
  • Other MPN providers specialize in general areas of medicine.
  • If necessary, the MPN will provide specialists to treat the injury or illness.

Using the MPN for treating occupational injuries and illnesses offers employers medical control for the life of the claim, with limited exceptions.

Convenient and Accessible

Statewide, our MPN provides covered employees with:

  • Approved medical facilities close to home or work.
  • Many facilities open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

District Office and Online Assistance

For additional information, State Fund policyholders can contact their local District Office, which will have the most current version of the Notice to Employees posting and Employee's Guide to the State Fund Medical Provider Network brochure. To ensure regulatory compliance, State Fund reminds policyholders to use only the new versions of the MPN brochure and destroy the old versions. Doing so helps ensure that employees receive information that the law requires.
